Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using BonVage ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and BonVage ("we", "us", "our").

2. Account Registration

  • You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account
  • You must provide accurate and complete registration information
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account
  • One person or entity may not maintain more than one account
  • Accounts are currently available by invitation only; sharing or reselling invite codes is prohibited

3. Your Content & Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of all content you create or upload to BonVage. This includes but is not limited to: trip plans, itineraries, journal entries, photographs, documents, notes, and any other materials.

By uploading content, you grant BonVage a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, display, and transmit your content solely for the purpose of operating the Service. This licence exists only to make the Service work — for example, to display your photos in your journal or share your itinerary with collaborators you invite.

We will never:

  • Use your content for marketing or promotional purposes without explicit consent
  • Sell or licence your content to third parties
  • Use your photos, writing, or data to train AI models
  • Claim ownership over anything you create

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
  • Upload content that infringes on intellectual property rights of others
  • Upload malicious software, viruses, or harmful code
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or data
  • Use the Service to harass, abuse, or threaten other users
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service's infrastructure
  • Share explicit, violent, or otherwise objectionable content
  • Impersonate another person or entity

5. Trip Collaboration

When you invite others to collaborate on a trip, you grant them access to view and (depending on their role) edit trip-related data. Trip roles include:

  • Owner: Full control including deletion
  • Admin: Can manage trip settings and members
  • Contributor: Can add and edit trip content
  • Viewer: Read-only access

You are responsible for managing who has access to your trips. We recommend removing access for users who no longer need it.

6. Subscription & Payments

  • BonVage offers both free and paid subscription tiers
  • Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period
  • Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact support within 14 days of a charge
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' advance notice
  • Payment processing is handled by Stripe; we do not store your full card details

7. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:

  • Scheduled maintenance (we aim to provide advance notice)
  • Emergency security updates
  • Circumstances beyond our reasonable control

8. Data & Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data. Key commitments:

  • We do not sell your data
  • Your uploads and content remain yours
  • You can delete your data at any time
  • We use encryption to protect data in transit and at rest

9. Account Termination

By you: You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. Upon deletion, all your personal data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

By us: We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behaviour, or if required by law. We will provide notice and an opportunity to export your data unless immediate action is required for security reasons.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • BonVage is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
  • Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim
  • We are not responsible for the accuracy of travel information, health advisories, or third-party data displayed on the platform
  • Travel decisions should be verified with official sources; BonVage is a planning tool, not a travel advisory service

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BonVage and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

12. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If a resolution cannot be reached within 30 days, the dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in the jurisdiction where BonVage operates.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Notify you through the platform
  • Require you to review and accept the updated Terms before continuing to use the Service
  • Provide a summary of what changed

Continued use of the Service after accepting updated Terms constitutes agreement to the revised Terms.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
